STANDING COMMITTEES:

 

Membership and Back to School Committee – The Membership and Back to School Committee is responsible for promoting PTO membership and encouraging family involvement throughout the school year. The committee represents the PTO at Pre-K and Kindergarten registration and orientation events by staffing an information table, welcoming new families, distributing PTO information and welcome materials, and promoting membership and volunteer opportunities. The committee represents the PTO at Back to School Night for NEPS and WES. The committee may also organize membership drives, support outreach efforts to increase family engagement, and assist in welcoming new families to the school community throughout the year. CHAIRS: 2 OPEN

 

Room Parent Committee – (Ongoing) The Room Parent Committee is responsible for coordinating the selection of room parents for each classroom and ensuring that all selected room parents meet PTO eligibility requirements, including current PTO membership and any required volunteer qualifications. The committee provides guidance regarding the role and responsibilities of room parents, serves as the primary point of contact throughout the school year, and promotes consistent communication between the PTO, teachers, and room parents. The committee monitors participation and assists in ensuring that room parent responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with PTO guidelines. CHAIRS: Kelly Fields, Amanda Paglione

 

Scholarship Committee – (Ongoing) The Scholarship Committee organizes the scholarship program to include: availability of scholarship forms to all Plumsted Township School District students currently in Grade 12; application review; and selection of recipients based on approved criteria determined by the committee. CHAIR: Margaret Lattanzi

 

Communications Committee – (Ongoing) The Communications Committee is responsible for promoting PTO activities and fostering effective communication with families, school staff, and the community. Responsibilities include creating and distributing newsletters, maintaining the PTO website and social media accounts, coordinating email communications, publicizing events and fundraisers, recognizing volunteers and sponsors when appropriate, and supporting committee chairs with promotional materials to increase awareness and participation. CHAIRS: Lyndsey Gill, Gina Fels

 

Hospitality Committee – (Ongoing) The Hospitality Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating faculty and staff appreciation activities sponsored by the PTO. Duties include organizing Teacher Appreciation Week, staff meals and refreshments, recognition events, and other hospitality initiatives that support and thank school employees. The committee may also coordinate teacher and staff wish list programs, helping to solicit donations or fulfill approved classroom requests when appropriate. In addition, the committee may coordinate cards, gifts, or other acknowledgments on behalf of the PTO for significant occasions, as approved by the Executive Board. CHAIRS: Kelly Fields, Amanda Paglione, 1-2 OPEN

 

Field Trips and Assemblies Committee – (Ongoing) The Field Trips and Assemblies Committee is responsible for coordinating PTO involvement in and financial support of school field trips and assemblies. Duties include reviewing and processing teacher and staff requests for field trip or assembly funding, coordinating approved payments with the Treasurer, communicating with school administration on scheduling and logistics, and reporting on field trip and assembly spending to the Executive Board. STANDING COMMITTEES:

 

6th Grade Committee (June): Works closely with 6th Grade teachers. Subcommittees will plan and organize the 6th grade celebration, yard signs, and other opportunities for the graduating class.  CHAIRS: 2 OPEN

 

APEX Fundraiser (Winter/Spring): The APEX Fundraiser Committee plans and coordinates the PTO's annual APEX fundraising program. This committee works with the APEX team, promotes participation, communicates event details with families, coordinates volunteers, and helps create an exciting and engaging experience for students while supporting PTO initiatives.  CHAIR: Ashley Raywood

 

Book Fair (Fall/Spring): The Book Fair is held for one week in the Fall and Spring during school hours, culminating in Family Night. All aspects of the book fair need to be managed, from coordinating with principal and book fair vendor, getting volunteers to assist with set up and breakdown, and helping students shop. Work at the cash register and reorder low stock items.  CHAIRS: Lindsay Leip, Danielle Sarakinis, Justine DeMetro

 

Bowlathon (March): The Bowlathon Committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the PTO’s annual Bowlathon fundraiser. Duties may include securing the event venue, coordinating registration, recruiting volunteers and sponsors, promoting participation, organizing prizes and incentives, and managing event logistics.  CHAIRS: Kelly Fields, Nicole Gaylord, Gina Fels

 

Box Tops for Education (Ongoing): Encourage the NEPS/WES community to submit their supermarket receipts to the Box Tops app to raise funds. Promote Box Tops contests in order to log more receipts during the app’s extra points initiatives.  CHAIR: Nicole Lane

 

Class Shirts (September): The Class Shirt Committee coordinates the annual class shirt program for students. This committee works with vendors, selects designs, manages ordering and distribution, and helps create a fun way for students to show class pride and school spirit throughout the year.  CHAIR: Stephanie Hagelstein

 

Community Partnership (Ongoing): Coordinates restaurant give-back nights. Develops relationships with local businesses and explores community fundraising opportunities. Handles and manages Corporate Sponsorships.  CHAIR: Susan Cybulski

 

Community Sporting Event (May/Other): The Community Sporting Event Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the PTO’s annual sporting event fundraiser. Duties may include working with the hosting organization, promoting ticket sales, recruiting volunteers, coordinating event logistics, communicating with participating families, and ensuring the successful execution of the event.  CHAIRS: Nicole Lane, 1 OPEN

 

Fall Festival (September): Beginning in 2027, The Fall Festival Committee plans and coordinates the PTO's annual Fall Festival event. This committee helps organize activities, games, entertainment, food vendors, volunteers, and event logistics while creating a fun and welcoming experience for students, families, and the community.  CHAIRS: 4 OPEN

 

Fall Photos or Fall Passport (September-November): Beginning 2026, The Fall Photos / Fall Passport Committee coordinates fall family engagement opportunities. Responsibilities may include organizing fall photo opportunities, coordinating with vendors, promoting participation, managing scheduling or logistics, and helping create memorable experiences for students and families.  CHAIRS: Lyndsey Gill, Stephanie Hagelstein, 1 OPEN

 

Holiday Shop (December): Held one week during school hours prior to the winter holidays. Coordinate shop date and gift items with vendor. Set up, reorder low stock items, and break down the shop. Coordinate shopping schedule and volunteers to work shifts and assist students with their gift selections, culminating in Family Night.  CHAIRS: Nicole Lane, Kelly Griffith

 

Ice Cream Social (June): Register date with township; arrange vendors, and purchase ice cream, supplies, and toppings. Coordinate volunteers (usually teachers) to scoop ice cream.  CHAIRS: Nicole Lane, Nicole Perry, Hannah Richards, 1-2 OPEN

 

Nominating Committee (As needed): A Nominating Committee may be appointed by the Executive Board prior to each annual election. The committee shall recruit and present qualified candidates for elected office and oversee the nomination process in accordance with these bylaws.  CHAIRS: Chosen as needed

 

Primary Prom (April): Beginning 2026, The Primary Prom Committee plans and coordinates the annual Primary Prom event for our youngest students. This committee helps organize decorations, activities, music, refreshments, volunteers, and event details to create a memorable celebration for students and their families.  CHAIRS: Gina Fels, Hannah Richards, Nicole Lane, 1 OPEN

 

Product Fundraising (Ongoing): This committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the PTO’s product-based fundraising programs. Duties include selecting fundraising vendors, coordinating order distribution, promoting sales, recruiting volunteers, overseeing order fulfillment, resolving customer inquiries, and working with the Executive Board to maximize participation and fundraising success.  CHAIRS: Jennifer Hendrickson, Hannah Richards

 

Spirit Wear (Ongoing): The Spirit Wear Committee is responsible for planning, coordinating, and promoting the PTO’s spirit wear program. Duties include selecting merchandise, coordinating designs and vendors, managing sales and order distribution, maintaining inventory when applicable, promoting sales throughout the school year, and supporting special sales events such as Pre-K and Kindergarten Orientation, Back-to-School Night, and other PTO events. CHAIRS: Kelly Fields, Nicole Gaylord, Danielle Sarakinis, Colleen Kennedy

 

Tricky Tray (February): Beginning 2026, The Tricky Tray Committee plans and coordinates the PTO's annual Tricky Tray fundraising event. Responsibilities may include soliciting donations, organizing baskets and prizes, coordinating ticket sales, recruiting volunteers, promoting the event, and managing event logistics to create a successful community fundraiser. CHAIRS: (Auction) Colleen Kennedy, Stephanie Hagelstein, (Bingo) Gina Fels,  Lyndsey Gill

 

Trunk or Treat (October): The Trunk or Treat Committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the PTO’s annual Trunk or Treat event. Duties may include recruiting participants and volunteers, coordinating event logistics and activities, securing donations or sponsorships when appropriate, promoting the event, organizing contests and prizes, and booking vendors.
